Just saw this on the Local.
Ryanair to stop flights into Pescara and a couple of other Italian destinations.

It is still cheaper than the £13 charged in Air Passenger Duty by the UK so maybe Italy is just catching up!

I am under the impression that the tax issue is just an excuse. Ryanair is increasing frequencies and destinations from Pisa airport as from summer 2016 http://airlineroute.net/category/ryanair/

Herein Sicily, it seems that Ryanair has decided to provide direct competition with Alitalia on their routes, to the detriment of the established ryanair routes - which is a great shame, and will all get rather ugly I suspect.
