Tree trimming
I have been told that you can cut lower branches of trees, even native oaks that interfere with internet connection, view and causing alot of shade in your garden up to where the tree spreads even if not on your land (the communes). Is this true ? Many thx for any info.

I think that you should contact the Comune and talk to them..

Yes Gala, I agree. The house is on the market as you know and the agent selling it tells prospective buyers it's fine to trim the trees....maybe on your own land that is so but I have my doubts on other peeps land. The trees have obviously been 'trimmed' before and when we moved here 12 yrs ago we were not in the shade or at risk of being hit by falling branches and could see the mountains....but not any more !

I understand that the law says that you can trim those branches growing on your side of the fence which become a problem or a nuisance. As the trees belong to the Comune it is better to approach them. They may even come and trim them for you.....

Re: Tree trimming
Gala, we had a huge branch of old oak tree land on our roof due to the weight of the snow on it and it still not having shed its leaves a couple of years ago The comune came and next the fire brigade who using their cherry picker managed to saw it up into 6 foot lengths and chop off the dangling branches over the road...I think the comune may do it at a price....not cheap !
