Eurotunnel Tips

A couple of helpful tips if you're thinking of using the Channel Tunnel.

If you shop at Tesco you'll probably be rewarded with Cash Vouchers.  What you may not know is that you can exchange these for 3x their value with Eurotunnel.  So if you have £50 of Tesco vouchers these can be used to buy £150 of travel through the tunnel.  However conditions apply:
1) You have to book 2 weeks in advance
2) Your trip has to start in Folkestone
3) You have to book a return trip
4) Pets, and other additional expenses, are not covered.
Even so a very good deal if you shop at Tesco.

A few years ago, on another forum, Ross turned up in his car at Calais on his way back to the UK.  He was told that, as he didn't have a booking, the price would be £200.  So he parked up and rang his wife back in Italy.  She then booked the next crossing online for him and texted him the booking number.  As this cost only £70 he saved himself £130!

Interesting indeed.  I will need to enquire as to whether shareholders can also get their discount using the vouchers.
