HISTORIC "VILLA STISTED" IN BAGNI DI LUCCA FOR AUCTION

Post by Gala Placidia on Thu Jun 20, 2013 4:15 pm

If you have at least 749,000€ to spare, you could make a bid for the historic "Villa Stisted", a beautiful riverfront property, currently being operated as a B&B, which will go for auction on June 25. The news appeared yesterday on Il Tirreno/Lucca edition. I cannot manage to download links, but a Google search using the words "Villa Stisted Asta" wll give you plenty of information.

Think they, as a Business, have been struggling for sometime, as many others in the Tourist industry in Bagni Di Lucca.
Good luck to anyone who can afford that price tag.

Well, the auction is to recover a debt; however, I do not know whether the owners operate the B & B themselves, or they lease it, as there seems to be a few conditions attached to the existence of a lease. In any case, these are bad times everywhere in Europe. They have said that 50% of Italians cannot afford to go on holidays this year and I think that the situation is about the same in quite a few countries... My main concern in this case is that the villa will be preserved and maintained. I do not wish to see another "Villa Fiore" deteriorating. The other day I was at the Buonvisi Palace and it is such a shame to see a beautiful building not being used...
