Croatia's entered the EU

How, if at all, do people think Croatia's entry to the EU might affect Italy?  I heard a Croatian restaurant owner being interviewed on the weekend, claiming that he thought it would allow him to employ better trained Italian waiters from Trieste.  

I've never been there myself, but I understand that Croatia is beautiful and has many equivalents to Italy's attractions.  If so perhaps immigrants might go to Croatia instead.  I presume the cost of living will be lower there.

Croatia is already a major tourist destination and real estate investment is growing. The whole country is beautiful, but the coastline is spectacular. It is not a backward country, on the contrary, it is developing and the GDP is growing. Good climate, natural beauty... yes it can rival many other EU destinations.
