Croatia's entered the EU Empty Croatia's entered the EU

How, if at all, do people think Croatia's entry to the EU might affect Italy?  I heard a Croatian restaurant owner being interviewed on the weekend, claiming that he thought it would allow him to employ better trained Italian waiters from Trieste.

I've never been there myself, but I understand that Croatia is beautiful and has many equivalents to Italy's attractions.  If so perhaps immigrants might go to Croatia instead.  I presume the cost of living will be lower there.

Croatia is already a major tourist destination and real estate investment is growing. The whole country is beautiful, but the coastline is spectacular. It is not a backward country, on the contrary, it is developing and the GDP is growing. Good climate, natural beauty... yes it can rival many other EU destinations. One problem, though... if you think that Italian is difficult, try Croatian Twisted Evil
