New Rail Station at Bari Airport

Tomorrow the new railway station opens at Bari airport.  It costs 5 euros to get to Bari Centrale and takes 15 minutes.  However, there only seems to be a train every 45 minutes.  Also on the websites I cannot see that you can book a through ticket beyond the local stations that line serves.

My husband will be giving it a try next week so I will report back to see if it is better than the bus or not.  Of course, they may not run the bus any more!

Well, my husband used the train yesterday.  Run by a different company to the main line so not possible to buy a through ticket.  Also it doesn't come into the main station - its own station is only the other side of the concourse but my husband (who is not very good with public transport) found it quite disorientating.  Train itself is all smart and new and the journey quick, although it stops six times en route to Bari Central, albeit very quickly.  A lot of the route is in a cutting.

Particularly in view of the fact that it isn't particularly frequent, he felt the bus was a better bet.  The bus actually stops outside the ticket office at the mainline station.

Its a shame you can't buy a through ticket as not having to queue up at Bari would be a big bonus.

The new line is a metropolitan line and is called the FM2 that is why it has a separate station and so many stops.
