"IN EDICOLA" THIS WEEK Empty "IN EDICOLA" THIS WEEK

I was having one of my multiple daily cups of coffee at Rudy's Bar, near La Villa, when I saw, amongst the newspapers, a book that immediately caught my eye. Its title is "Pasta, tradizione regionali", published by Edizioni del Baldo and it was sold in conjunction with some of the newspapers by paying a supplement of 9.95€. The book is excellent, great recipes and charming illustrations (no photos, but really beautiful and helpful. It covers not only pasta, but sauces and lots of interesting information. Highly recommended!

Another great cookery book is being sold at the Newsagency this week. "La Cucina del Risparmio" by Maria Teresa Vaudagnotto Bianco (Priuli & Verlucca Editors). Sold in conjunction with Il Tirreno newspaper, but I did not have to buy the paper. No glossy photos but good old fashioned recipes and advice from "la nonna". It also has a useful appendix on Italian table etiquette and wines. Great to build up your Italian vocabulary and save some money. Recommended!
