The good news:
Ryanair has extended the check-in period to 30 days. (oh goody! No need to worry about bothering friends or searching for somewhere to check in now when holiday over 2 weeks).

The bad news:
Only those willing to fork out £5 per person to book a reserved seat are eligible to make use of this. (Oh well , only going for 12 daysthis time so I can check in before we go anyway).

The even worse news:
Ryanair has thought of that. Those who do not wish to reserve a specific seat can now only check in from 7 days, instead of 15 as it was previously. (Had to succomb and reserve for the return journey in order to check in. At least OH got a seat he wanted I suppose but it cost us a tenner)

You dont know whether to laugh or cry at their cunning.

I have literally just booked a Ryanair ticket and hadn't noticed this - being too mean to even consider reserving a seat I suppose.

Thanks for pointing it out - I just saw the 30 day check in banner and thought 'good'.

At least you dont need to reserve seats both ways as it is easy to check in 5 days before for the outward journey, and if you have reserved seats for coming back you can do both check-ins at the same time.

I hate RyanAir, but use them often... We have booked seats almost since they brought out the option to do so.... To be honest we are now paying less (inc seat bookings) than we did 20 years ago flying to Greece for 1 person than we now pay for 2... from Italy to the UK...  Smile

You pays your money you take your choice....  Now Meridiana on the other hand - they're just inept with so little regard for their passengers they don't even care whether you buy a ticket.

They change their site almost weekly and obviously use the same IT people every time! Perhaps MrO himself does the work, all I know is that they do not have a clue about performance...
