.. and yet another example of the way things can change French police expelling migrants (LINK) I'm sure there would have been a few UK government voices telling the French it would be a good idea!!!

I was one of the few who didn't vote UKIP last Thursday.  However it's very clear that many people, particularly in France and the UK, are developing serious antibodies to the EU.

Historically, whenever there has been a severe economic crisis, the extremists, right or left, increase their power. It should be noted, though, that , while these movements increased the number of votes that they received, they did not WIN the election . So it will be interesting to see what happens. Italy should be congratulated for the way its citizens have voted. A very mature, thoughtful vote. And a big slap on the face for the clowns. Now, let's see what happens...
