Definative ruling about IVA on a build
Ciao e tutti,
Anyone have any expertise in IVA qualification. I am getting conflicting information from builders, architects, accountants etc about whether a building project has 10% or 4% IVA applicable.
I am a resident & it is prima-casa but because it is a reconstruction (ristrutturazione), not a new build some quotations want to apply IVA at 4% while others 10%.
I have rummaged about on the net & asked for opinions from professionals but I want to get a definitive answer.
I suppose I could take the project to the local Guardia di Finanza office & ask but I cannot imagine what a horrible can of worms that might open..................
Any advices?

Re: Definative ruling about IVA on a build
If you're resident on a restoration Id plan for the 10%, but hope for bits of the work to be at 4% - The 4% seems to be a bit of a mythical number - Also, as a resident you can (this year) get 55% offset against your tax bill over the next 10 years on energy saving measures, which is roofs, glass, fittings, most things - and you get up to 10K on white goods and furniture. What you must do is pay for everything by bank transfers using the right words on the causale, otherwise you wont get a penny.
