I'm confused - help please! Empty I'm confused - help please!

Post by mammamia Wed Jun 04, 2014 3:00 pm

I need some help please. I am now resident in the UK and trying to keep up to date with payments in Italy through internet banking. Fine, except I cannot understand what is going on with the local taxes. I have an apartment in San Benedetto del tronto (2nd house) and last year paid my full IMU payments in June and December (the same as the year before) as well as the full TARSU in May and September. I have not heard anything about whatever the new tax is going to be so I looked on the comune's website. It said that I should pay TARSI 2014 by 16th June and to go on to the cityportal to work out how much it is going to be. I went on to the site, and it just had how to calculate IMU for 20132 - which I have already paid!
So, the first question is what is TARSI? Then how do you calculate it? When do you have to pay it? Do you fill in a modified F24 to pay it? At the moment I have not committed any violations (so the city portal says!) but I think I am going to be headed that way soon!
Help please from you lovely people who have their fingers on the button. Rolling Eyes

Your comune San Benedetto del Tronto has fixed the TASI at 0.25, and the baseIMU at 1,05.  Check the site:

http://www.comunesbt.it/Engine/RAServePG.php/P/1097010010100/M/324010010100

So by 16 June you need to pay the first half of your TASI and the first half of your IMU by F24 which you should be able to do online.  Use on online calculator to work out how much it is with your rendita catastale and type of property.

TARI is the new tax which replaces TARSU which is your rubbish tax and you should get a bill from the comune

My sympathies mammamia.  Sad

I'm actually in Italy at present and off to visit my mate Mauro at the commune soon to sort out this year's IMU (ICU?) and TARI.

I'll let you know how I get on and whether I have any helpful tips.

Mammamia, you are not alone... we are all confused. Hubby going this morning to try to sort it out. We want to pay the whole year, as we always do. Although we intend to come back in August or September, we always worry that there could be a problem which would prevent us from doing that... so we prefer to play safe. It is absolutely amazing  to see that they are unable to organize themselves and send us a proper bill with the choice of one payment or installments, as it is done in most other countries.

Followed past procedures for obtaining tax info, rendite, F24, etc. However, was asked on one form for "Aliquota" with a choice of 1 2 ,or 3. What might this be?
Our situation is one EU passport holder with residency in Italy and the other non-resident US type, each 50% ownership.

The resident doesnt have to pay IMU, onlyTASI, the non resident both.  if your comune hasnt set the aliquota for the TASI then you will pay that in October.   The IMU aliquota is the same as last year generally.

I'm confused - help please! Empty Thanks for the support!

Post by mammamia Fri Jun 06, 2014 1:11 pm

Thanks everyone for all your messages of support! OK, I understand that this year I have to pay IMU on my apartment and I can use the old calculation with the new aliquota to work this out. So I can also use the new figures that Modicasa pointed out to work out my TASI (old TARSU) tax. Do I fill out 2 F24's to pay these amounts, or do I pay it in one? When I fill in the F24 do I use all the other figures that I used before to fill in the boxes? I am sorry to ask all these technical questions, but I want to get it right!!! Rolling Eyes

TASI is NOT the old TARSU.

TARI is the new TARSU
IMU is the old IMU and older ICI
TASI is a new one on indivisible services and should be paid with IMU which combined make the IUC.

OK so I have to pay IUC on 16th June? How do I calculate it? Do I pay it in two payments , June and December? I am non-resident. I am relying on you Modicasa!!!
I have looked at the sticky again and I will use that to work out the new bit. Do I then add it to the 2014 calculation for IMU using the new aliquota? When I fill out my F24 do I add these two together? Do I use the same Numbers in the boxes for the F24 to identify me and the comune etc? Sorry to be so thick about this, but it took me a couple of years to be confident about working out how to pay IMU!!!

If you use a site like Riscotel then not only will it calculate everything for you but it will also fill out the F24 so you can pay it.

I went to the commune a couple of days ago, armed with last year's IMU receipts, and again met Mr Smiley (Mauro who I very much doubt has a sense of humour).  After he had established that we hadn't built a 3 bedroom extension without telling him he pushed a few buttons and...........there was my IMU bill (identical in every way to last year's!)
There was no mention of TASI, TARI, IUC or indeed TARSU!  Shocked
I told Mauro how very much I was looking forward to seeing him again around December time (not a twitch of his lip), popped next door to the bank (which was virtually deserted), paid my IMU and decamped to a local bar to celebrate.  Smile  Smile

I imagine, as in previous years, my postbox will be graced with a demand for payment for rubbish anon

Use this site to calculate your IMU.   You will need to pay the first half of your IMU and the first half of your TASI - it may be that your comune will have bundled them together.

They should scrap them all and replace it with FU. 'cos that's how I think they arrive at it.

Hi all

I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling here! My comune has not fixed any of their rates for this year (to my knowledge) and I have not received a bill at my house, so do I not need to launch into action yet? Do I just wait for one of those things to happen?

Thanks all

No. You need to pay the first installment of IMU by 16th June at last year's rate. For TASI and TARI you can wait for the moment. If you look at the sticky I have updated all the info and deadlined.

Admin thats onnly true is the comune has not yet set the TASI rate for your comune.  If it has - and some have you must pay the first tranche of TASI by 16 June.

Reply from accountant:

Buongiorno

Google translate:

I do not know what you have paid in January. I can assume that it was the IMU in December 2013. The one I have is I sent the IMU to the end of 2014 (deposit + balance). So with the payment of € XX each, nothing more is due for the current year.
The TASI is a new tax that the Italian government has set up for those who own property, but that for now the town of Pigna has decided not to apply, so nothing is due for 2014. That we pay is still the same old IMU.

At your disposal for further clarifications, cordially greeting

I thought IMU is paid twice a year in advance e.g. our payment in January 2014 was for January- June 2014.  Wrong assumption according to our accountant Question
