on holiday
We've been here a week now and each day the weather is getting warmer. I'm in a cafe using their Wi-Fi, and the view up the road is of mediaeval Filetto, and through the town entrance arch, I can dee the mountains capped with snow. Here in the cafe we are sitting in the sun, just having a coffee after a wonderful 11€ lunch at Il Pozzo, Filetto, next to the park. We are going to the river soon to walk and pick up some beautiful marble like stones for the patio. I love it here. And, I'm going to be here for most of the summer, with grandchildren and relatives visiting. Bella Italia.

Re: on holiday
We'll be right behind you JA. Just done my check-in for next Sun. Our first (of several I hope) trip this year. As you were talking about eating out thought you might be interested in an agrigourmet(!) right next to my hamlet in the Val di Vara - about 45mins from Aulla. It's called Intatto and the chef was one of the finalists in the Italy section for "Young Chef of The Year". He isn't the actual finalist who will compete internationally, but not bad for someone who is not a trained chef but passionate about food and inspired by Masterchef. He's called Cosimo Bunicelli and Agriturismo (or Agrigourmet) Intatto has a Facebook page in Italian only. It's not dirt cheap but a wonderful experience as you sit in a meadow under a canopy with gorgeous views. (In their house if weather bad). Their tasting menu is superb and they also have a vegetarian tasting menu. I still cant believe it's within walking distance of our very humble hamlet.

Re: on holiday
You have to go past Calice to the next village, Villagrossa. Just going out of Villagrossa is a little road on the left signposted Terruggiara, Vichieda and it is down there. You have to book first as it's not a normal restaurant and just opens for bookings. It will do a splendid meal even just for 2 people.
