Another foodie posting Empty Sort of foodie !

One of the many things that REALLY annoy me living in this great location of Le Marche, is the absolutely appalling lack of advertising of events. If is wasn't for the beautiful scenery, the food, the wine (and at the moment the weather !!)........

All we are after is to take some visitors to a 'Christmas market' in mid December where there may be stalls of food and drinks amongst other things. Can I find any ?!!!

We were thinking of driving to the location, staying overnight, enjoying the day, having a meal etc but sadly I've been going round in circles, calling tursimo offices and even pro locos and it's awful ! grrrr! Evil or Very Mad

Geo !!!!!!!!!!

Superb, I searched all over yesterday and found so much 'guff' I resorted to phoning Le Marche Tourism, they tried, but left me with very little !

Some of the places on the list are 'awaiting 2015 market dates', which I find surprising, I would have thought that 'they' must have given some thought to it all by now ! I'll keep my eye on the site. I am slightly disappointed that there are none advertised for this general area (Ascoli Piceno, San Benedetto etc). The tourist people did say it is more of a 'northern' thing ?!

I see one of the markets advertised is Bolzano, I can certainly vouch for that being a good'un (if you are up that way !)

Thanks again,

V

Vicino,

This site has an Excel spread sheet listing markets, dates as well as other info that may be of help, including fairs of national interest:

I have also used the following site and like how it is organized:
http://www.le-marche.com/

Hope to meet some of you in the next year or two as we plan on moving over within 2 years if all goes as planned.  Still need to find our house over there and sell our business!   Smile

Thanks so much for the offer.  When we know the dates of our next trip, will definitely send you a pm for advice.  We love Le Marche and agree that it is a beautiful area.
