Red red wine......
On the occasional occasion you have some left over, apparently the best way to store it is in the fridge with its cork in place....slows down the oxidation process....never knew that !

I'm worried that you ever have some wine left over - you must try harder!

This is what you need Angie. Takes the air out of the bottle.

And here are some good ideas to use any leftovers http://www.bonappetit.com/test-kitchen/cooking-tips/article/10-ways-to-use-leftover-wine
I recycle them all the time and beef in red wine (boeuf bourguignonne) is delicious and can be frozen.

Re: Red red wine......
This is always a problem with a favourite dish... What I do, is to prepare some meals suitable to be frozen and keep them in the freezer for unexpected guests, etc. Also, boeuf bourguignonne cooks beautifully in a crockpot. But only for the final stages. When you want it to simmer for a long time...

Yes Gala, I too am a fan of slow cooking. I was recommended to buy one you can sear your meat in on the hob then transfer the pot to the cooker, less washing up and more flavour in the dish !
