Brexit
So ...a year ago today...and is anyone any the wiser:?: How do you feel about the so called negotiations?
As an EU citizen now living back in the U.K., I'm absolutely disgusted at how me and my fellow EU citizens have been treated as a 'commodity', a 'bargaining tool' by TM and her cronies:evil: Her statement about EU citizens rights to stay yesterday and today, raises more questions than answers and it certainly needs a lot more clarification.

Re: Brexit
Casa Monal, I have been reading the documents issued by the EU regarding citizen's rights and the EU have very clearly stated (despite the soundbites and what you read in the press) that whatever is agreed verbally has no meaning until the final Brexit deal has passed through all 27 governments. So if the UK crashes out with no deal then we are all stuffed. The EU has refused (in writing) to sign off on all of our rights as a separate thing to provide us with security. That is using us all as a big fat bargaining chip.
As for EU citizens not having their rights guaranteed, sitting on the other side of the fence I am pleased that nothing was unilaterally offered by the British Government as it must be a two-way street and given the documents I am referring to above, the EU too have not guaranteed anything.
The details of what May is proposing are being issued as a document on Monday so we all know more then.

Re: Brexit
I think the ‘truth’ lies somewhere in between and of course our perspective depends on the media source.
I agree that it’s a ‘two way street’ but TM could have ‘offered’ something a year ago…after all the UK are divorcing the EU…
