Fire Extinguisher

Hi,
Does anybody know if there is a law relating to fire extinguishers in the home? We have two, one for each floor and I just happened to look at the date on them .....2009 !
Do they have to be serviced?

I don't know, but my ex-husband once played a funny trick on their apprentice. He gave him the fire extiguisher and told him to go the post office with the letter he gave him as it needed a new certificate. Off he trotted. The letter said "this is a stick-up give me 10 first class stamps and a packet of jelly babies"!
The apprentices got teased pretty relentlessly. They had them shaking the battery packs for the cordless drills every morning, making him tea with 10 sugars every morning when he came in (that went straight down the sink), sent to the builder's yard for a long weight.....
