The price of a truffle....

Post by Angela Fuller on Thu Nov 05, 2015 7:28 am

I thought it would be nice to send, as a gift, a local truffle to family back in the UK.  I contacted a 'new' on-line co and purchased one....I thought....Then I received a call to say they were sorry but the prices stated on the web-site were incorrect and my payment of £30 for a 20g truffle was a quarter of what I should have paid....Money was refunded and a free gift put in the post....Other friends have told me that locally you can purchase them for 100 - 150 euros per 100g....Quite a difference in price !

Angie,if we generalize, truffles are expensive; however, their price varies according to a multitude of factors, such as type, size, origin... This site gives good information
