I was watching RAI's coverage of the European athletics back here in Blighty and a female high jumper was being interviewed. He wished her well for the final with the traditional "In bocca al lupo." To which she replied "Crepi". I thought that's not very nice so a quick internet search revealed that 'crepi il lupo' is the traditional response. I'm pretty sure that in all the many conversations in Italian that I have heard, I've never that rejoinder. (See below for further less felicitous 'bocca' related references).
