Health Forms
I have just discovered a form E01 exists here, available to people with family income of less than 36,000 euros (I wish) and those over 65 who can then get free consultations and prescriptions. How many other forms are there out there to help people that we do not know about.....Would be great if someone in the know would post so we all can benefit from availability. Thx

Re: Health Forms
Will try to remember on to have a look at it Angela, but is it an E01 or E101?

Re: Health Forms
You can get the E01 quite easily Angela. Just go into the local hospital, probably Amandola for you. The Cassa will normally do it if the other "Hole in the Wall" is not open!!!
Just recently got mine, with no problem. Then go to your doctor to get it recorded on his system.
You do still sometimes have to pay for certain medicines though.

Re: Health Forms
So is this E01 only an Italian form? If over 65, from the UK and now living in Italy I would have thought with an EU form S1 (from the UK) -formerly E121, I think) you could get most treatment in Italy. Although you may have to pay for certain things as Geo has said...

Re: Health Forms
Yes Steve, E01 is an Italian form. The UK E121 / S1 does as you say give you access to the Italian health system but as you and Geo have said you will have to pay for some things including consultancy fees. The E01 is only available to residents here over 65yrs or under 6 yrs, providing the family income is less than 36,000 euros. As far as I know at the moment you may have to pay towards some medicines but not consultant fees. At least that seems to be the situation where I live and all of the over 65's have applied for this form, so it must be necessary. I think there are other forms (list in Hosp') that cover other situations. Hope that helps.

Re: Health Forms
There is usually a poster up explaining the rules at the Cassa of your local hospital. There is another form for children under 6 to give free treatment. You have to renew them every year.

Re: Health Forms
Yes Penny, OH's form is valid until March 2015. Do you know whether the form covers spouses (under 65), I expect not.....

No, it is individual. You will have to wait I'm afraid.

Re: Health Forms
Angela I think you should have a look at this LINK I pretty sure what's covered in there is correct. This is one of the official UK LINKs but they don't go into as much detail. Basically in most circumstances if either of you is in receipt of a UK pension they will cover the cost of medical care whilst in Italy (or France in this case and/or any other EU or reciprocal country mentioned in the NHS link). Failing that a younger spouse is covered by their older spouse's S1.

Re: Health Forms
Steve, Angie is talking about a different form that is nothing to do with tge UK and means you don't pay ANY fees for consultants nor prescriptions. We all have to pay these without this form - even Italians.

Yep Admin, understood, but she is NOT covered and could be by her spouse having the EU S1 form (note an EU form NOT simply a UK form).

Re: Health Forms
No Steve she IS covered. She already has health cover in Italy. What she doesn't have is the Italian for E01 as she's not 65.

Re: Health Forms
Admin.
Can I just correct you on one point regarding the E01. You do still have to pay for certain prescriptions. Wife has had hers for a number of years now and not all drugs/medicines are exempt

Re: Health Forms
Yes Penny, sense of humour is a little Freudian at times....maybe need medicine to correct it but cannot afford... Geo, Oh off to Dr's with Form E01 next week....he is on tabs after heart by-pass done in UK 14 yrs ago.....wonder if tabs here free for chronic illnesses and not acute ? Maybe wrong in assuming that ?

Re: Health Forms
Who knows Angela. Wife has had to pay for eye drops on prescription after a op, even having that form, so it seems to be a case of "maybe, or maybe not"
Re: Health Forms
Will let you know how we get on Geo....Maybe eye-drops are for short-term problem, maybe not a long term thing ? hopefully.....

Re: Health Forms
Another health question for those in the know....If you have a form E01 and have to spend time in hospital do they charge? If you don't have a form E01 do you have to pay ? I assume a non-resident would have to pay and have heard tales of 100 plus euros per day....I am not planning a stay myself but it would just be nice to know the situation should it arrise.....Many thanks.

Re: Health Forms
I have a regular monthly 'drugs run', some of them I get 'free' one of them is paid for. I was in hospital a few years ago (emergency) four nights later I was back up and running..............I asked where do I pay and the chief honcho said...........nothing to pay !
Other occasions, we always have to pay for specialist appointments and follow ups. I am 'mature' (greater than 65 !),
I'd be interested in the form E01, having never heard of it. I have seen signs regarding family income (€36k or less), but havn't really understood it .

Re: Health Forms
First I've seen of this post, looking at the web I'm guessing it's an Italian form and only applicable to residents (with a Tessera Sanitaria?) over 65?

Re: Health Forms
Yes Steve, to get the form E01 you need to be a resident, over 65, family income of under 36,000 euros and is an Italian form.
Vicino, you need to go to your local ASL office and provide evidence of codice fiscale and Tessera Sanitaria (would only except OH's old paper one last year...don't know why). It needs renewing every year and runs from the end of March to the following March and yes free consultations you get...Pleased you did not have to pay for hospital stay, maybe it only applies to non-residents after all.....

V , if you google this "modulo esenzione ticket e01" the first entry I get is for ASLAL, if you hit the google "translate this page" (or right click to open it in a new tab), it seems to give a reasonable (guessable) translation.
