Car Hire Question.

Expedia tells me today that they're having a sale.  Yippee 

So I book a hire car in latish September at Pisa airport.  A 'compact' car.  A Ford Focus or similar.  For 4 days.  With Goldcar.

And the cost? 

............................................£34.25! 

Now my granny told me that 'if it's too good to be true, it probably is'.

So is there anything I need to know about Goldcar before I continue (I have free cancellation)?

Yes, its gold car!   They are famous for their service at pisa.     Make sure you have lots of credit on your cards....

Hmmmm.  I've just read reviews of Goldcar online and words like 'shark' and 'bandit' spring to mind! 

Needless to say I have now cancelled my booking.

After reading the 'bit' about Goldcar in yesterday's Observer [how people get charges on their credit card that will never be refunded], I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole

Unfortunately I do V.  Casa Ghiro is in the middle of nowhere.

aaah yes, I can see how that could be a problem !! I find car hire nowadays one of my biggest bugbears (I have a lot by the way !), the hassle and the insurance and 'what happens if' challenges are a nightmare !
