Amazon.uk

I have heard it through the grapevine that Amazon no longer will deliver to Italy free for orders over £25 anymore.  Such a shame as I would often place an order for things with them that were so expensive or just not accessable here.  Friend of mine placed order on the 10th June no problems.....on the 11th June was told no free delivery anymore !!!!

Amazon have been trying it on for a year or so now, they started in the USA with you having to bundle small stuff up before you could get free delivery, then it started in the UK late on last year. However the few times I've ordered stuff since (from the UK) site it's been free or little delivery cost. You have to wonder how long they could have continued with not charging. Like I said on another post I've also found they are becoming more expensive than say Argos, Tesco and dare I say it even John Lewis and Sainsbury's. Pity only John Lewis deliver here and than not that many items. Have you tried Amazon.it or Amazon.fr. The former tends to be dearer than UK, but we have once or twice found it cheaper and easy to order from (same a/c). The latter we have not use or checked, but someone I know checks them all and said they often find one or the other much cheaper. But think in the long run it is going to be more costly for delivery...

Anyone got a good website for books in that case that do deliver free to Italy?

P, try Play.com....have not looked at site but told it is free delivery here......

Have 4000+ ebooks on "rar" files, but cannot upload them on here!!!

I use Play.com for DVDs with great success. Normally no delivery charges although deliveries can take a few weeks to meander through the postal system.  You have to be careful with the sub suppliers though. I ordered something from Play.com last month and found the sub-supplier was from the US and the Customs bill was €10 despite the free delivery claim.

Yes and very good info too... Was just providing confirmation and detail others had from Amazon themselves.. They do indicate things might change....
