Uploading photos?
Can someone please help me to upload some photos. When I post it says that my upload limit is 0mB so everything exceeds my limit!
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Uploading photos?
I attempted it once and concluded that putting a man on Mars would be easier!

We don't have any free space left I'm afraid. We will have to pay if we want extra space. It's on my 'to do' list

Thanks
Thanks anyway. Want a dog? He's far too good to go to a canile. We've just had our first grandchild in Australia - should never have really got one dog, so another is really a step too far!

Re: Uploading photos?
Ah that would explain it. I had promised new pictures of the beautiful garden of Ninfa near Cisterna and I spent hours trying to reduce them in size etc - fruitlessly. I thought it was just me and gave up!Admin wrote:We don't have any free space left I'm afraid. We will have to pay if we want extra space. It's on my 'to do' list

Re: Uploading photos?
But you can put the pictures on any of the many web sites e.g. Picasa and add a link here...

Could you let us know when we are able to post more photos? We just returned from Basilicata and Le Marche and would like to add more of Matera.

Re: Uploading photos?
At the top of the page is a button "Gallery"
Follow the chain and you can establish your own gallery.
It doesn't have much space however, so you need to put up low resolution photos.
My own page has only twelve photos. I found the above by trial and error.
As Admin says, it will cost money to allow pictures posted within the boards, and I can't see the need.
For my photos from Liguria, I started a Photobucket site (quite easy) and I will add to this as I report on my Italian travels.

Re: Uploading photos?
As stated the answer is that there is not enough space that comes with the forum to maintain a users pictures. Therefore Admin would either have to find a third party solution (not easy or straightforward) or pay for more space if the Company providing the free forum software have such a product.
Not wanting to be too technical or detailed, but to be honest there is likely a debatable point about the use of a central storage space via a forum for holding users pictures :-
a) you don’t control the security or at least it’s another step away;
b) it costs someone for storage, £30-40 per year for a 100GB;
c) it’s at risk in a central area;
d) you have to look for the storage running out & pay for more
So a solution as I suggested where the forum user stores their own pictures on one of these… http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/free-online-storage
areas in a “public” “forum” folder and simply provides the link on this forum (beauty with it is, you can do this on any forum) avoids all of the above issues.
If interested in Luna’s solution Photobucket, then read here about it… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photobucket
Another simple solution is to create a simple blog with pictures and words and provide a link to that…
Anyone wanting basic advice on how to set any of these up, I’m happy to try and help them in doing so.

Re: Uploading photos?
Reading this ForumotionLINK I can see why it would be difficult to get more space from them... Complex or what? Then again, we have to remember it's FREE...
