Xylitol sugar alternative

Has anyone sourced this sugar alternative, Xylitol in Italy? It's available in UK and on-line but postage prohibitive. Thanks! Jo and Simon

Amazon Uk seem to have this in stock, but it is probably better if you order a few items and then the postage costs are virtually nil for the savings that you would make compared to Italian cost. Have no idea what it would cost in the UK in a normal shop!!

Jo, Do you mean Amazon UK wont send it, or the cost of postage is exorbitant ?  Maybe try posting this on the Italian Reflection site....lots of foodies on that.  Can post for you if you are not a member.

Xylitol is available in Italy, although you may not see it in supermarkets. It is called "xilitolo" and your local chemist should be able to get it for you. Here is some information and brand names http://xilitolo.it/xilitolo-generale-panoramica-studi-fonti/

Jo, sometimes I get things from M&S outlet....much cheaper. Strangely Amazon is the distributor and wont send to Italy M&S outlet stuff....everything else but that....So I have it delivered to friend / family UK who re-package it and post it to me....Maybe a thought.....
