A Visit to Conad

Does anyone know, in a supermarket, whether there's an equivalent phrase in Italian to the English 'Does madam need any help with the packing'?!  

In the Amandola one, they always pack it for you. You have to be quick if you have your own bag though, as otherwise its 15 cents on the bill!!

I think that packers have practically disappeared from most supermarkets in Italy, France and Spain

It's bad enough trying to get a smile out of the checkout people, as they fling your purchases at breakneck speed down the conveyor, let alone help in packing the squashed and cracked items into your bags, or their bags that they begrudgingly hurl at you if you dare to ask for them.
Me, bitter...... neh!

For service and kindness the best are the American supermarkets. We should send their colleagues from Italy, France and Spain to do a bit of learning there. And Italy is not alone in the terrible service championships...
