Ban as council juggles fun-seeking and public order

MILAN – A hypothetical conversation in Milan between an ice cream-eating citizen and a public official might go like this. “Is it OK to slurp?” “You can slurp provided you do so inside the ice cream shop”. The astounded gelato fan protests: “But I like an ice cream while I’m out in the street in the evening”. The stern public official replies: “Sorry. If you’re in a nightlife zone after midnight, it’s against the law”.

What would Italy be without it's Bureaucracy.........

Looks like common sense (and a large flashmob protest) has won the day though, for a change.

Well, at least there aren't any dead bodies on the Milan streets, unlike in Glasgow when ice cream wars erupt

Ah the good 'ole days when going to the wrong Ice-cream van for a 99 put a whole new meaning to the expression;
 'stop me and buy one'.......

Like Italian citizen i can say that bureaucracy (italian and abov-all UE) it's our enemy; sadly it's a power used to keep down the Italian citizen and keep a lot of income for the "casta", all the "casta" (in english is it caste ?).
I think that many Italian's region, whitout bureacracy, could fly high.
