"Rossano"

I know several people in the old forum read "Rossano by Major Gordon Lett about the International Brigade of partisans in a hidden valley near Pontremoli, and may remember he was a good friend of Daniele Bucchioni, the leader of the Val di Vara Brigade. Some of you may be interested to know that Dany died aged 95 and his funeral is today, I think in La Spezia. I feel quite sad as he was born very close to my village and I have met his sister who still lives nearby, and other relatives. He was a local hero and I would have liked to have met him but now I have left it too late

An excellent book by Gordon Lett. I believe I'm right in thinking that 'Dany' took part in the liberation of Aulla in April 1945. No doubt his funeral today was very well attended (11:30 in La Spezia).
