Heatwave Due

Just been having a look at one of the Italian papers and seems that there are some very high temperatures expected throughout Italy from this week.

Up our mountain (300m) it's predicted to be a balmy 36C on Sunday 

Well worth the warning, although we had 35-40c plus last year for 3-4 weeks solid, we have found this years up and down temps so much more difficult to get used to. More time to be spent shutting shutters and windows on the sunny side in the morning and swapping in the afternoon. So everyone, drink more water and keep in the shade if it gets too hot, only a paltry 40c max predicted here     

There is a heat wave not only in Italy, but throughout Europe. There death toll has reached 40 people. It may still last a few days. There has been some thundery storms at night, but they have not managed to cool down temperatures. As Steve said, try to stay out of the sun and drink plenty of fluids, preferably water. Salads, cold soups and fruit are ideal. Stay cool!

Can we switch the heat off for a bit please ??!!

No, it's nice really and will only be here a little while, just keep cool....     

31C here at 7.30 p.m. Checked the ground temp @ 1.3 mtrs deep using the pump loop and that was around 21C, so cooked roots on the plants!!!

Been in the high 30s all this week here, glad we've got a pool to cool off in..
