Now, you see, even though I love a lot of opera - I can't be doing with ballet.

I find the noise as they land on the stage too distracting.

Re feet noise:- I have seen noisy English ballet companies, but when I saw the Bolshoi ballet once I had the impression they would be executed if their feet happened to touch the ground - they were so quiet!
