IMU 2013

First topic message reminder :

I read today that whilst the government have upheld the suspension/cancellation of IMU for 2013 on prima casa for the second installment, like the one in June, the comuni have until the 9th December to declare at whch rate it will be payable. This means the cancellation is declared at one rate then the comuni hike the rate and we will alll have to pay a 'mini-installment' by 16th January to cover the difference. Watch this space as I'm sure it'll change again!

Your F24 semplificato is not difficult to fill in.  there are websites which will do it for you - such as http://www.riscotel.it/calcoloimu2013/?comune=null
though its not 100% reliable.
IMU for Dummies would be already out of date, and in 3 weeks we have the TUC.   
If you are at a loss go to your local CAF, (centro assistenza fiscale) where they will help you do it for a very modest fee.

There has been a mini amendment - if you have outstanding IMU to pay the deadline has been extended from 16 Jan to 24 Jan.

Is the 40% difference payable again, at all?

If you comune has changed the aliquota from that set in the spring, and you have paid both instalments at the original rate, then yes, you must pay the difference by 23 Jan.  

For example.  COmune A sets the aliquota at 7.6 in May for second homes and 4% for prime case.  By June we know that prime case are exempt, but 2a case must pay.  THere then follows 6 months of general mucking about.  First week of December the comune decides thtat 2a homes should pay 8.6 and first homes 4.8.    You didnt know and paid what you paid in June.  

So... by 23 Jan you should pay the difference between 7.6 and 8.6 for the whole of 2013 on a second home. and/or 0.8 on a first home.  However, with 1a case, you must check with the commune because not all comunes apply it - in fact almost no comune has fixed a higher aliquots for 1a casa, because they assumed they were exempt.  If you have a 1a casa that is A1 A8 or A9 then you pay at the second home rate.  If you are in AIRE then some comunes will make you pay.  If you have a D10 then you will pay in some comunes and no others.  Some comunes will demand payment on land, others not.  

Id say check the website of your comune or call to see if there is a late amendment and then you know what you need to do.  The websites for calculation of IMU are generally not current as regards the comuni censiti.   ANd so on.

Thanks again modi. It's just a shame they don't have joined up government and a standard website address format for the comune's. For those that need it,  quick Google for "comune di" with the Comune name added seems to find them...

you pay what it tells you to pay..clever programme does the calculation.  (I hope)
but make sure you click the MIni IMU button in red at the bottom and fill in what you have paid thus far in the Acc and Saldo windows.  Click on modifier and then on the Mini Imu and it should tell you exactly.
If you cant click the Mini Imu button, because it isnt highlighted,then your comune has no Mini Imu !

Modi is this "mini imu" button on THIS page? If so what is the wording as I'm not seeing it...

I also note when you click on the comune it comes up with text - ours is

I still don't understand it ..............my comes up with a payment of €127 but should I pay 40% of this amount(€127) or does the €127 represent 40% of the increased Aliquota ?

I think I'll pop along  to the comune and ask them how much they want !

There was a recent POST on the Abruzzolutely forum which give THIS LINK which seems to give you all the comune where the mini IMU is payable. Not too sure how accurate the data is or how you calculate it (Modi's link likely does that for you), but others here might be able to give an example. Judging by the post on the above forum, many comune still don't have a clue....

Shows how much things vary from Comune to Comune, emailed ours from UK to say we knew there was a bill, but were here a while and could they send us a copy of the bill... Ok, 2 weeks later, but a full copy of the bill....
