Gas con - who knows?
a quick update on the plan to ditch the gas bombola and go over to bottles ... last summer the bombola was run right down to 'empty' so we got the bottle ready for the changeover .... Well, here we are a year later and the bombola is still connected and refuses to run out.
There are a couple of messages here .... 1/. Don't panic when the gauge reads 10% or so - there's probably more left than you think.
2/. Be sure to check the fill details carefully when the truck comes ... you aren't necessarily buying the full tank you think you are.

Ha! When we moved in we had just under 30% on the dial, 2yrs later it was still that.... New cooker arrived and it went plummeting down... Turns out the cooker is naff and leaks at the tap, common problem apparently. We did not find this out until we had swapped over the bombola to small bottles and had a small bottle run out on us after a very short time... Proof was when we stated turning off at the tap under the sink between the small bottles and the cooker... Hard to tell the actual usage as a couple of times I messed up thinking a bottle was empty, but at present we are running at €60 per year for a cooker top only. Like I say, hard to tell as it's still going, could be half that cost. Best thing we did (especially considering the leakage) was have a double valve put on to enable the connection of 2 bottles (we found 15kg to be best size). Just with we had bought an automatic change over valve. Still at least we know when we need to replace a bottle...
