Obituary

It is with great regret that I have to announce the sad demise of our beloved setter.
He has been suffering from diabetes for a number of months, but unfortunately early today he suffered a stroke. The vet came and it was decided that it would be best to send him to doggy heaven.
He has been buried this afternoon in one of his favourite spots, with his blanket etc. Our other dog came to say goodbye to him and curled up with his towel as if to remember him.

So sorry to hear that Geo.  Our animals are all so special, he wil lindeed be missed but never forgotten.

Very sorry to here that Geo and I can empathise with you fully as on Wednesday we had to have one of our beloved Labs put to sleep, he had Liver Cancer but still reached the fine old age of 13 & half.
We buried ours in our orto where he would play with his brother when I was gardening and fetching sticks.

Sorry to hear that Flip, but as you say 13 and a half is a good age for a large dog to reach....I am sure he is happy sleeping in your orto...

So sorry to hear of your loss as well Flip. We do get so attached to our animals and it is like losing a member of the family.
Jock is buried just above our pond, where he liked to chase the lizards in the grass.

I feel very sorry for you, Geo and Flip. The loss of my beloved Tequila is still hard to accept... And she was 18!!! I know how sad you must feel.

Just as a note to any that have pets (particularly dogs) that die in Italy, one is supposed to notify the ASL of the death and submit the microchip number (if you have registered the dog as you are supposed to do), also if you are thinking of having your pet Cremated, this will be very expensive (in the region €500-€600) as this is handle by Private firms only not the Vet.

Thanks Flip. We are getting the microchip de-registered tomorrow hopefully.

So sorry to hear that bith Geo and Flip. It's heartbreaking to lose our furry friends.
