Where to dispose of doggy doo?

Now this may seem like a silly question, but as I was out walking the dog today it occurred to me that I hadn't ever seen any dog poo bins in our village in Sardegna. When we move next year the dogs will be coming too and I have no practical idea of where we should dispose of our doggy poo bags? 

What do people with pooches on here do? 

There are dog pooh bins here in Bordighera but where we used to live here were not so it went in the regular bin.

If your comune have gone in for recycling, there may be brown coloured bins for organic refuse. I've certainly seen the biodegradable plastic bags sold for collecting dogs' deposits, so if you see the brown bins and buy yourself some of the biodegradable bags I'd drop them in there. Otherwise use the cheaper ordinary plastic bags and throw them in an ordinary rubbish bin.

We have a brace of dogs who travel with us between the UK and Italia.

Living, as we do, in a rural and agricultural area here it's not really a problem for us.  There's so much poo already from horses, goats, sheep, boar, pigs, free running local dogs etc etc that it's not an issue.

Thank you very muchly for your suggestions, I'm over there in a couple of weeks so I'll check out the brown bin situation, I certainly don't fancy taking it home to dispose of it, but neither do I want to leave poop all over the village.

Biodegradable doggy bags are available at et shops or supermarkets. Some of the larger towns have doggy pooh bins with a bag dispenser. We always carry a small plastic dispenser filled with bags whenever doggy takes us out for a walk....

Yes, there is, and from different sources. Not all crap is biodegradable...

 You can say that again... on second thoughts, please don't. 

Try and get you dog to poop at home (in your garden) then pick it up (in bag or Kitchen roll) and flush down loo.

I like the look of the army surplus entrenching tool as posted by Centauro above - I presume the idea is to shovel up the shit, stuff it back up the dog's arse and kill the dog? 

Sounds good to me, I could never have thought up a solution as good as that.
