Re: Will it work here - the doggy bag?
We get a doggy bag quite often when we sometimes go out to eat. Quite often though, the dogs are with us, so no real need. Never had a problem.

I think, like most things it will take several years to catch on here. I don't know what happens to leftovers from restaurants, hotels etc in Italy but I know many years ago in England leftover food was collected on a regular basis to be used as animal feed. Maybe that it still done in Italy so the leftovers are still being re-cycled. Another reason it may not catch on is that an average portion size served here in Italy is smaller than in America and the food alot tastier so probably clean plates all round !

I think the headline for this article is a little misleading as it has nothing to do with lovely dogs, only mere people...

It's always been a "doggy bag" up North in the UK....

Ah ha Steve that's probably what caused the north and south divide...'doggy bags' down south were for left-overs to be taken home to feed to your dogs......not for you to take home and re-heat for Sunday lunch......

Oh dear I've been seriously told off... Apparently it's because people up North used to pretend it was for the dog....

I suspect the article is a bit of a non event and designed to promote the Expo event. But I'm a sceptic.......
