Vile conditions in southern England at present. Rain and wind ++++. Lucy (aka Adolf ) our younger daughter is still in London and has to get back to Devon tomorrow.
70% chance I'll be driving somewhere to collect her. Watch this space........

Yes, so many trying to get from A-B, possible snow here with strong winds, not too good. As parents you never get away from the worry when the children travel to be with you. Let's hope they all get where they are going safely, we will certainly worry until they are here with us....

Well! Adolf arrived at Paddington station this morning only to discover that every train to the southwest had been cancelledghiro wrote:Vile conditions in southern England at present. All of a sudden, to her surprise, the train departure board announced that there was a 9:06 going to Taunton. So she legged it, grabbed a seat in 1st class (with a standard class ticket), and crossed her fingers.
Some 3 hours later she arrived at Tiverton Parkway (more convenient than Taunton!) where I picked her up (and she stayed in 1st class all the way for free).
Result!!!! She's now where she wants (and we also want her) to be! With her loving family for Christmas.
