Good transfer service
I have been using Transferwise lately. They have been cheaper than my bank every time & will take the funds from your bank account or a credit card.
If you use this link you get your first transfer free & I get a freebie.

Or their normal home page is here https://transferwise.com

Re: Good transfer service
Thanks Chris, looks a good alternative to CurrencyFair. I had looked at a few others a while back, but none were as good as CF at that time. Transferwise now seem to be a few Euro better up to £3000... After that it's the other way around... I suppose once you are into amounts much above 3000 you also need to be more aware of the security of the Company/Bank you are using.

Re: Good transfer service
... should have added, that Transferwise at a £1 charge for under £200 would be a very good way of paying your Italian bills from the UK if they do IBAN transfers with reference facilities.

Yes they seem to allow me to alter the reference for each transfer. For example I can put a different invoice number in the reference box each time i send funds !

Re: Good transfer service
Drat! Sorry Chris, we too tried them the other day and I did not remember who had put us on to them... They were very good, not quite as quick as Currencyfair, but the rate was better (and I suspect will be up to around £500).
