Petrol prices Empty Petrol prices

The recent fall in the price of crude oil is now being reflected on UK forecourts with 2 supermarkets selling unleaded petrol at under £1/litre.  Is fuel similarly cheaper now in Italy and elsewhere in Europe?

I'm a diesel user (bad person !), I certainly have not seen any major change here in Le Marche, and t'other day, paid something like 125 per litre.

Also being a diesel user I don't think you're a 'bad person' for one minute! Smile

Am I correct in thinking you mean €1.25/litre?  If so that's a very competitive £0.90/litre! bounce

Sorry ghiro, that was me being lazy with my typing. It was indeed €1.25(9) a litre, so I suppose €1.30 is nearer to reality !

I think the bad person comment was related to the fact that during these massive world changing climate talks (ha !!), diesel cars are getting more of a bad name.

I'm feeling a bit better about the price of diesel here now !

Fuel prices in Europe have come down following the lower cost of fuel. Italy is not one of the cheapest countries to fill up your tank, actually, it ranks as the 4th most expensive country for fuel prices. I understand that those higher costs are related to excessive taxes on the product, and one of those taxes was imposed by Mussolini to finance war in Libya and was not withdrawn !!!!
Anyway, here you have some prices http://www.fuel-prices-europe.info

This article was published last June and a lot has happened since then, so prices may be more favourable now; however, it confirms what I said before regarding taxes... About 60% of the price!!!! That is highway robbery!!!
