Re: French week at Lidls
Slightly off topic, but not much:-
I have long bemoaned the lack of an oats based muesli when shopping in Italy [I've only ever found the 'granola type' muesli]
3 weeks ago, I found that LIDL do an oats based muesli - and very nice it was too.

I too enjoy the oat based muesli from Lidls alan h infact the 'wonders of Lidls' are always surprising. Looking forward to warming a camembert in the oven and dipping in a few crudites....ummmm

I agree with both of you, Lidl's muesli is the best. And the products they usually sell during the French week are excellent. In general, over the past few years, the quality and variety of Lidl's products has improved dramatically. And prices are still very reasonable.

By the way, if you happen to buy too many Camembert and you do not know what to do with them, this is a very trendy way of serving it http://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/foodanddrink/camembert-hedgehog-bread-is-the-cheesy-new-food-trend-you-should-try-a3231291.html
I saw it being prepared quite recently on Spanish TV and it looks simple and delicious.

The camembert hedgehog recipe looks like a 'must try' to me Gala. I was wondering about freezing some (camembert) but have tried freezing cheddar and was disapointed with its taste so unsure....

The only cheese that can be eventually is the one that you will later use for cooking. Otherwise, it looses both taste and texture...

Know this is not about the French week at Lidl, but those who know the Asian shop near Lidl in Tolentino, may be pleased to know they stock Marmite and Quaker Porridge Oats.

Gala, do you think I could use Brie cheese with ??? when camembert supplies have gone, I know it wont be the same but with a few other or different things added it just might be a substitute ?

Re: French week at Lidls
No problem with Brie as it even has a higher fat content than Camembert. So you will get a very similar result. There is an Italian cheese called Camoscio d'oro which has a similar consistency. Flavour is a bit different... but with the rosemary addition this will not be noticeable. You may also try different herbs....
