WELCOMING NEW MEMBERS (PART 2)
I had to start a new thread as the previous one had too many pages and I missed welcoming a few new members. Sorry! Anyway, back on duty!
A warm welcome to our 149th member, Rosmarino. Glad to have you here and it is great that you wrote a bit about yourself. This does not happen all the time... unfortunately.
We trust that you will enjoy this Forum!

Re: WELCOMING NEW MEMBERS (PART 2)
Well, Jordan/Giordano is very proud of his Italian ancestry and wishes to live in Italy... so a name change will not be out of place

Re: WELCOMING NEW MEMBERS (PART 2)
Perhaps we should all go to the Italian version of our names... how would you like Stefano Il Monaco-Seaton.
And I should use the Latin version Aelia Galla Placidia I already feel dead and buried in a mausoleum

You are right, ghiro, but "fare a testa e croce" would be even worse and way too long...
Better stick to our existing names...

Thanks for the welcome, and i quite like Giordano maybe i'll use that name once i move to Italy in the future
Edit- What would you do if your name doesn't have a translation would you just add a vowel? E-g Brendan would be Brendano, i know you don't need a Italian version but it's fun

Re: WELCOMING NEW MEMBERS (PART 2)
There is no Italian translation of the Irish name Brendan (which means "prince" in Gaelic; however, there is a Latin name for the patron saint: "Brendanus", which is not quite nice. Another option would be the closest Italian name: "Brando", although it comes from the German name for a sword. I quite like Brando.

Marlon's original surname was Brandau (German ancestry) and I agree, he was OK.

I think that we will still get a few old names. Some do not know we are here, some are watching us to see how it evolves...
