First topic message reminder :

Hi guys as we struggle around the 40 mark for members is it about time to go on a membership drive to open up the Forum to new members?
I have just Tweeted details of our new Forum to my followers, why not do the same with yours or can you use any other means to wake up the Italian Loving Community to the Best Italy Forum yet (Probably)

Look folks - this is just history repeating itself. The deleted posts over the road are par for the course.

Make no mistake, "they" are watching "us" and believe me when I say that if anything to advertise our new little forum or something detrimental towards them is posted over there - it will be removed.

That's why Lisa got her zipped file - they don't want her to post yet again to point out the failings of that site - and it is possible that they are reading here and saw I posted that I would take "anyones money" as a bet they wouldn't send respond to her request.

How "wrong" does that make me look? Who cares as long as Lisa got her file?

And he will answer in plain English. Our local "idraulico" has a very thick Tuscan accent and always talks with a cigar in his mouth... we have to guess what he is saying...

Well...............aren't we doing well !!?? (I think we are AND, it's interesting that a lot of the 'old guard' have marched across here !).

I am still (I'm very slow don't you know !?) getting to know my way around here, for instance how do I thank or reply to an individual respondent as against the thread? I will find out in due course I'm sure.

Thanks Vicino. You'll find the Thank button on the bottom left of the grey 'post' area. You use the quote button to quote a poster but you have to reply at the bottom of the thread I'm afraid.

I only found you because Geotherm replied to someone's enquiry about heating and quoted this site - glad I did as the information and tips I've received over the years from the old guard have been invaluable and I wanted to tell everyone about the Ninfa garden in Cisterna (near Latina, Lazio). I've posted under the gardening section.

I had the "brilliant" idea to post our contact info on their FB page, which I did, and then realized that my full name appeared, which I didn't want, so unfortunately had to delete it all.

Brilliant idea. It is possible to set up a false FB name though.

I think you can call yourself anything on FB as long as it's not offensive, my son has a made up name, I think as long as you have a valid email, you can call yourself what you want.
Just don't nick my moniker ' Nonofur Flipin Biznez'.

Only just discovered this forum and it's taken me ages to register correctly. Must be getting even older and more feeble than I suspected. Ciao anyway. Daren't write much in case it disappears into the ether. We're off to our Ligurian holiday home next week and I'm not too old to be really, really excited. By the way, are all the Ligurian members from the bit near France? We're from t'other end. Hope the weather will be as good as when we visited in April as we just happened to choose a week of heatwave. This time, to celebrate a special birthday, we're going to the Teatro del Silenzio in Lajatico on the 13th July. Got butterflies just thinking about it.
